Barbara’s Versatile Avocado Spread: The Healthy Way To Replace Mayonnaise
You know when it’s lazy Sunday, and you feel uninspired, somewhat tired, and just want to chill with your favorite cup in front of a TV, or better yet, a fireplace, doing absolutely nothing?
That’s how I felt last weekend.
I’m a big advocate of healthy snacks, and I’m strict with my hubby John, who went overweight almost 10 years ago but decided to turn a new page in his life and nutrition recently.
On the other hand, I care for my boys and prepare them tasty treats all the time. So to balance the things out, like every savvy mom & wife, I’m being creative.
I’m putting the two opposites together.
Healthy snacks, healthy dippings, healthy treats.
Both tasty & nutritious, delicious & good for you.
That’s how we all should go, especially as we age.
Life without mayo in Whitney family!
One of the biggest nutrition problems in our household was to ‘rehabilitate’ John and the kids to stop eating so much mayonnaise every single day.
They love it so much, that they are capable of eating it with basically EVERYTHING.
We all know how unhealthy mayo is, but we silently decide to keep it as a public secret.
So, long story short here’s what I made to replace mayonnaise:
After a week or two of slow introducing, and giving my three boys a small taste of this spread with crackers, tortilla chips, toast sticks, and different combinations with ham or minced meat delights, I’ve jumped out of joy when my Mike (my younger son) said:
“Mom, this is better than mayonnaise!”
When you finally succeed in turning your boys from unhealthy mayo to a healthy avocado spread, you know you’ve done a great job.
In time, we stopped buying mayo entirely, and I always have stocks of this beautiful spread in my fridge. How amazing is that!
If you have a similar situation in your family and would love to make your family members eat less mayonnaise, I suggest you try this fabulous spread.
It’s so easy to prepare, from very basic ingredients.
Here’s what you need for Versatile Avocado Spread

The beauty of this marvelous condiment lies in its versatility; it can be used in almost anything.
Sometimes, I use it in sandwiches, or as a dip for quesadillas, tortillas, or just plain chips dip. My boys got hooked on it, and my hubby dropped a pound or two in the last couple of days.
Mission accomplished! 🙂
What do you think about this concept? What would you use it for?
